Persied Meteor Shower tonight

It’s not too late to see the meteor shower…in fact, tonight around 2 am may be the best bet for viewing.  In the Tacoma area, according to the Tacoma News Tribune, “some good viewing locations in the South Sound include Penrose Point and Kopachuck state parks, Mount Rainier National Park, along Old Highway 99 between Tenino and Interstate 5, the Yelm Prairie area and Mima Mounds near Littlerock.”

I’m hoping to be able to catch some, but after today’s Star Wars marathon, I might have to wait until tomorrow night.  But I’d love to hear stories or see photos of anyone’s adventures in stargazing.

    • I was able to stand in the driveway and catch half a dozen within ten minutes, even with all the light spill from the surrounding area. There are still showers going on the rest of the month.
